I appreciate this incredibly thoughtful reply. I think you're spot on. As someone else pointed out, there's an ROI to good visual design that often outweighs the next feature a company wants to roll out. It kind of taps into the "design needs a seat at the table" in business topic. Designers need to be able to convey to a business that fixing bad visual design would in fact add more revenue in a quarter or year than building/designing a new feature a few clients asked for in many cases.
